Here are tips to passing this test:
This exam is unique among those you take to become an
Oracle-certified DBA in that you take it online, via the Internet, rather than
at a testing center. Also, you’ll have two hours to complete it, instead
of the hour and one-half time limit for the other tests.
The content of this test differs from the equivalent Oracle8i
and Oracle8 tests:
- Has more exhaustive coverage of functions (both single-row and
group)
- Covers the new features of Oracle9i
- Has reduced emphasis on the
physical aspects of table definition (STORAGE parameters)
- Does not
cover CREATE / ALTER / DROP DATABASE or TABLESPACE statements
- No longer
covers PL/SQL at all
To pass any of the Oracle exams, you
need to do three things:
- Study exam-oriented books
- Get hands-on Oracle experience
- Take
practice tests
Classroom training is the most expensive
preparation option. If you’re experienced, you can do without it, but
you’ll probably need it if you are new to the subject.
Certification Books:

Dawes and Thomas (Sybex, 2002), ISBN: 0-7821-4062-9.
OCP Introduction to Oracle9I: SQL Exam Guide, by Jason

Hands-on:
Preferably you can get this experience at work. If not, you
can get a copy of Oracle with a limited license to install under Windows, Linux,
or Unix from any number of books you’ll see on the shelves at B.
Dalton’s or Barnes and Noble. Oracle is bundled in (for free) as part
the book.
