EXAMS: STUDY TIPS

This is a very tough exam that has a
reputation for eating candidates for lunch. To pass this exam, you will have to
thoroughly master a number of topics. These include VPNs, Certificates, Subnet
and Supernet masking, Radius, and DNS to name a few. You should have experience
administering a network (not just the servers). In particular, you should be
familiar setting up VPNs on Windows 2000 and administering DNS and DHCP
services. To practice for this exam, you will need at least 3 or 4 machines.
You should practice the following on your network:
1. Setting up a demand-dial VPN
router.
2. Setting up certificate
services.
3. Setting up primary and secondary DNS's and
practicing with diagnostic tools, such as NSLookup.
4. Configuring IPSec policies
5. Integrating DHCP with DNS and
RRAS
To practice demand-dial routing, you will
want to mulithome two of your servers with two network adaptors so that you can
practice demand-dial routing from one private network to another.
Finally, make sure you thoroughly understand
all the topics listed in Microsoft's exam outline.
