SYNOPSIS
The Certified Internet Webmaster’s Master CIW Enterprise
Developer is a high level, vendor-neutral, certification for IT professionals
who develop enterprise-wide Web-enabled applications and implement complex
e-business solutions. The Master CIW Enterprise Developer builds on advanced
skills in database management, distributed object computing, scripting and
programming languages, and language theory. While achieving the Master CIW Enterprise
Developer certification, the candidate will achieve the CIW Associate and CIW
Professional certifications, as well as the Sun Certified Java Programmer or jCert
Java Programmer certification.
The
Master CIW Enterprise Developer certification emerged in the fall of 2000. In
terms of recertification, CIW exams may be retired for various reasons,
including release of a new exam series, changes to related certification
programs, or determination by the IT industry that a job role has become
obsolete. Once retired, the exam is no longer available at testing centers, although
in some cases candidates can still apply credit for a retired exam version
toward a multi-exam certification. CIW offers six months prior notice for
retirement of any exam so that interested candidates have time to prepare and
take the exam while it is still available.
Job roles of those pursuing this certification
typically include: database developer and administrator, Internet application
developer, middleware programmer, Java developer and client/server developers.
To achieve the Master CIW Enterprise
Developer, a candidate must pass a total of eight different CIW exams from within the CIW curriculum.
