SYNOPSIS
Certified Wireless Network Professional’s CWAP (Certified Wireless Analysis
Professional) is an advanced certification for IT professionals who are “able
to confidently analyze and troubleshoot any wireless LAN system using any
of the market leading software and hardware analysis tools.” Topics on this
certification focus “entirely on the analysis and troubleshooting of wireless LAN systems.”
Planet3 Wireless launched the CWAP certification in the spring of 2004. In terms of recertification, essentially candidates may either: 1) “recertify by passing the
latest version of their current level of CWNP certification within 24 months of the
initial date of the latest level of certification earned”; or 2) “maintain a valid
CWNP certification status by earning the next level of certification within the CWNP
Program within 24 months of the initial date of the previous level of certification

Job roles of those pursuing this certification typically include: network administrators,
network architects, and other IT professionals with wireless in their titles.
To achieve the CWAP a candidate must pass two exams.
