SYNOPSIS • CCIE vs
Cisco’s exams 350-020, CCIE Service Provider - Optical, 350-021, CCIE Service Provider - Cable, 350-022, CCIE Service Provider - DSL, 350-023 CCIE Service Provider - Wan Switching, 350-024 CCIE Service Provider - IP Telephony, and 350-025 CCIE Service Provider - Dial include both a specific written exam and common hands-on lab exam as core requirements for the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.

You take one of the above written exams and then a common Service Provider lab exam. These exams are high level exams for IT professionals who have a very good understanding of IP and IP routing, Optical, DSL, Dial, Cable, Wan Switching, and IP Telephony.

A CCNP, CCDP, CCIP or CCSP are logical, yet not mandatory, prerequisites for this set of exams. Passing one of the written exams is a prerequisite to taking the common lab exam.

The lab exam costs $1250 USD and must be taken on-site at a Cisco authorized lab testing center.

Cisco does not publish the pass score for the written exam: Pass marks are set by using statistical analysis and are subject to change. This exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions and lasts 2 hours.

The lab exam is a one day eight hour practical exam. In terms of its scoring: Each configuration scenario and problem has pre-assigned point values. The candidate must obtain a minimum mark of 80% to pass.

The topics covered by each qualifying lab exam can be found under the “Service Provider Blueprints” section here.

Untitled Document > Persistent Group Chat: An Approach for More Profitable Team Communications : Unlike email, instant messages (IMs) do not allow group communication; nor do they persist -- you can't hold on to them for as long as you wish. Persistent group chat, however, allows businesses to organize persistent dialogue around business-critical topics, and keep them for easy retrieval later.
