   Somewhat challenging | jarrettjackson |

| Scored 833 out of 1000. For this test you need to know the basics. The show commands for the different routing protocols. Also, know the boot sequences and the outputs of the commands. You also need to know subnetting cold or you will have issue with time on the test.Used Wendell Odoms books. |

   over prepared | john47832 |

| Semester 1 & 2 overprepares for Intro exam... I made a mess of the simulation (entered a router where a switch was required :0 ) still passed with 933... Found that preparation with Semester 1 & 2 book is more than sufficient...No ACL's, no great detail on RIP(if any), and no "show" commands :) |

Easy Going if you do the work! | Calen_Little |
 |
| Used the Cisco intro book by Wendell Odem and the Celtic Rover web site to gauge my understanding of each chapter. Make sure you understand the underlying information of the router commands, and the information outputed by them as this will help you no end. Passed with a score of 913 which i was happy with. Also practice with some router sims nothing beats the hands on understanding. Hope this helps |

No certfificate for this one.. | He4oBek |
 |
| I was gutted to find out that after you pass this exam, you DON'T get a certficate. After you pass the ICND, only then can you receive your CCNA certificate. |

| I studied alot for this exam using the Cisco 1&2 and 3&4 books, Net Visualizer, and Packet Tracer. I missed one question on the debug command. |

Not sure where I went wrong. | rajmago |
 |
| So I failed it today with a score of 778. just a couple of questions shy of passing. I found that there were a few questions that I didn't see in the wendell odem book. one about time exec and one about encrypting passwords. sigh. will sit again next week. Any suggestions guys? |

   Not as hard as I thought .... | He4oBek |
 |
| The INTRO exam was not as hard as I thought it would be. I passed it with 863 points. What really suprised me, was that you don't need 85% (850 points) to pass, but 82.5% (825 points). I had only one router simulation :( . To pass the exam you have to know collision and broadcast domains, TCP and UDP, router startup, router functions, ROUTER COMMANDS. I noticed that on the multiple choice-single answer questions, there's one very obvious answer and the rest are total nonsense. I used Wendell Odom's book to prepare, although not all topics there are for the INTRO. I wish you all good luck with this exam. |

| I used Transcender to prepare for this exam and it did NOT help. Though I passed the exam, it was very difficult |

FOUR TIMES I TELL YOU, finally | cewigginsjr |

| This Cisco stuff is not for the weak of heart, you have to have the mind set of what a CCNA/CCNP is and what you want to do with the cert. You cannot just go in thinking, "Oh, I will just pick up another cert in this area." I think in order to be successful in this test, YOU HAVE TO KNOW YOUR SIMULATIONS, subnetting was not that bad. Simulations are 80+ points, if you fail one sim, you may still be able to pass if you answer 85% more of the test correctly. Overall, I am thankful that I passed. |

   pretty easy | b3nnie |
 |
| For me this exam was very easy, but i am a student and did complete the first 2 semesters within a classroom. We were given 75 min and i finished with 25 left cause i rushed though it and could of done better if i hadn't-895/1000, the sims were a joke password setting and interface configuration and there were no acls covered, even though they were a main part of the 2nd semester. |
