If you do not have at least 6 months using SSMS on SQL Server 2005 you will not pass the simulations. I failed the exam the first time because I only used SSMS as a connection to SQL Server 2000 servers.

The simulations in this exam are a surprise. The cramsession booklet will not prepare you completely. You need hands on experience.

This is the fourth Microsoft test I have taken and was by far the easiest. Forty of the questions were nearly identical to my study packet and the twelve simulation questions were very basic.

I'm based in Ireland, questions were 52 with 12 simulation questions ... and someone told me there was gonna be only 40, grrrr Anyway, been using SQL 2005 in a test environment since Beta 2. Generic questions are straightforward with focus on backup and restore strategies, high availability, a lot of T-SQL statements, endpoints, security ... the simulation questions I found strange as in some of them you really can't do what they are asking you to do. I then thought they might just wanted to know which properties you need to access to perform a task and saved the simulation at that point. I guess I was right, my final score speaks for itself :) Don't waste your time with dumps and actual-test products; some of them are wrong, you cannot take the risk and ultimately to work with SQL you need to know what you are talking about. Load an evaluation copy or buy a Developer edition for a few bucks, mess with it for some time and you'll be rightfully on your way :)
